Theoretical Foundations of Computer Supported Sustainable Learning Processes (CSSLP)
نویسنده
چکیده
This paper introduces the concept of computer supported sustainable learning processes (CSSLP) and presents a theoretical framework of the research area. Key aspects are discussed in relation to relevant terms and issues such as, learning processes, collaborative learning, distance education, distance learning, situated cognition, and situated learning. The main focus of the paper is to clarify the terminology introduced and used in our research about CSSLP. Constructivism and Papert’s constructionism is discussed as well as Resnick’s Distributed constructionism. Normally the learning process, in educational settings is based on activities such as lectures, seminars, tutorials and practical work. From our point of departure the learning process differ a lot, and it is essential that within the research area of CSSLP different learning-processes and attached activities are elaborated and evaluated. The paper describes some fruitful approaches in this process.

The present study aims to investigate language learners’ cognitive processes in on-line ESP courses. Three modes of inquiry are used: think-aloud protocol analysis, screen capture analysis, and correlation analysis. The theoretical foundations for the evaluation of the cognitive aspect of Ferdowsi Univeristy of Mashhad E-learning System are drawn from cognitive load theory, cognitive apprentice...
متن کاملExploring foundations for computer-supported collaborative learning
In 1996 Koschmann (1996) suggested computer-supported collaborative learning (CSCL) as an emerging paradigm of educational technology. After six years, how has the field developed? What does research say about CSCL to date? What is the state of the art? The aim of the present paper is to explore the foundations for CSCL, and in doing so, to contribute to the theoretical as well as empirical und...
متن کاملIdentifying Coordination Agents for Collaborative Telelearning
This paper deals with identifying roles for coordination agents in a future collaborative telelearning environment. The current practice of students participating in a netbased simulation marketing game on-campus, is studied with an eye on designing a future collaborative telelearning environment where this same net-based simulation game will be central. The work described in this paper is situ...
متن کاملFoundations of Unsupervised Learning
This report documents the program and the outcomes of Dagstuhl Seminar 16382 “Foundations of Unsupervised Learning”. Unsupervised learning techniques are frequently used in practice of data analysis. However, there is currently little formal guidance as to how, when and to what effect to use which unsupervised learning method. The goal of the seminar was to initiate a broader and more systemati...
متن کاملThe dialectical potential of Cultural Historical Activity Theory for researching sustainable CSCL practices
This article explores conceptual and methodological challenges in researching sustainable computer-supported collaborative learning (CSCL) within authentic educational settings. It argues that to investigate the sustainability of CSCL in such settings, we need to understand how new innovations become enculturated as part of educational communities and the shared repertoires and practices of lea...
